ABOUT WMU
World Miss University Malawi is a pageant which exists to promote academic excellence and community service by providing women’s educational empowerment for its participants.
At the end of the competition, one stand out young lady will be selected to be sent to World Miss University, South Korea.
World Miss University Malawi is a platform for students to discover more about themselves as individuals, their dreams and the role they want to play in their community and beyond. Being part of the pageant places students in familiar and inspiring company such as Oprah Winfrey, who was Miss Black Tennessee 1971, Halle Berry, who was the 1st Princess for Miss USA 1986 and Gal Gadot who was Miss Israel 2004.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
BCA (Malawi) in partnership with WMU (South Korea) call for applications from interested models / pageant queens to represent Malawi at the next World Miss University pageant.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Malawian citizen
- Currently registered in an accredited Malawian university
- Above 1.6m tall
- Pageantry History
- Fluent in English
- Between 18 to 29 years
- GPA above 2.0
- Not married
- Childless
- Provide passport and student ID

PAGEANT (MALAWI)
This year, there will be no pageant held locally. The selection will be done fully online.
PAGEANT (SOUTH KOREA)
The selected winner in the online application round will represent Malawi in Seoul, South Korea. Tentative dates for the Seoul pageant are end of August – End of September, 2022. The participant will be expected to be present at the pageant for the entire duration of the pageant.
PAYMENT
The pageant participation in World Miss University in Seoul, South Korea is fully funded by World Miss University (return flight, hotel stay, and all activities).
However, Visa processing will be the participant’s cost, and there are no daily or any other allowances.
BCA will charge only* the selected representative a fee of $300 for facilitating and coordinating the entire trip and process. This amount will have to be paid by the participant once they are selected, to start preparations for their trip.
There is no fee for applying at this stage.
SELECTION
From the list of applicants, the shortlisted top 3 candidates will compete for a final voting round in social media, where the candidate with the highest engagement accross all platforms shall be selected to represent Malawi at the pageant in Seoul, South Korea.
SHORTLISTING
Candidates that meet the qualification shall be contacted, to provide further details and consent to the final social media voting round.
ONLINE VOTING
3 candidates will compete in a final social media voting round from the 23rd – 30th of July, 2022.
ANNOUNCING THE WINNER
The winner will be announced on the 1st of August, 2022 to start preparations for the trip.
The candidate will be fully assisted by the BCA team.
